I, little ol me, was Girl Scouts of Central Maryland Guest Speaker!

A special thank you to Girl Scouts Troop 476 of Central Maryland for making me an honorary guest speaker at their Empowerment Symposium & College Fair. Both Middle and High School girls learned about the importance of setting life goals and had the opportunity to interact with working professionals through a variety of workshops, guest speakers, and network with vendors.

When I started out on this journey I never imagined myself talking to 100+ girl about the one thing I struggled with at their age, walking in confidence. I too was the awkward skinny black girl who was taller than all the guys, knocked kneed, and flat chested.

As I stood microphone in hand, butterflies rumbling in my tummy I had just one mission: tell these beautiful young women that they can do absolutely anything they put their mind to! My heart melted as hands raised of young women who identified with 13 year old me.
