I see you. I love you. I'm sorry. Sorry for the dirty looks I gave you. Sorry for the lies I told behind your back. I'm sorry I didn't show up for you. I admit I was jealous, a tad bit insecure, and maybe even a little envious. You see, I always wanted to be the "pretty girl," the one everyone noticed, and all the guys wanted. I just wanted to be seen, heard, and protected. But somehow in between, I stepped on you, overlooked you, and made you feel less than. Please, forgive me.‬

‭Sister, I promise from this day forward to cherish you. You are me, and I am you. You are worthy of love & respect. Sister, I will protect you. Sister, we are in this together. Now I admit we are going to disagree, and maybe even stop talking. But I promise not to tell your secrets, nor go after your man. ‬ ‭I promise to honor the girl code! I promise to respect you, and look out for you. Sister, I promise to encourage you, and lend a shoulder to cry on , a safe ear to listen. ‬ ‭Sister, I promise.‬
